Houston attorney Tony Buzbee opens the second lawsuit against Texan QB Deshaun Watson

HOUSTON – Houston attorney Tony Buzbee filed a second lawsuit on Wednesday alleging misconduct by Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson.

The second lawsuit comes hours after Buzbee filed the first eight-page lawsuit against the Texans QB on Tuesday night.

Buzbee, who made the announcement on social media, said his team would open the second of what are now four cases on behalf of women against Watson.

The lawsuit, filed in the Harris County District Court, says Watson contacted the massage therapist who runs his own massage therapy business in Atlanta, Georgia, on Instagram on August 14, 2020, and took her to Houston for her services.

The process said in part: “The Author routinely offers professional massages in people’s homes and hotels. The Claimant has never had any contact with Defendant Watson prior to this message. The Applicant has never worked with athletes from the Texans organization. The Claimant found it somewhat odd that an NFL player was looking for a message from her because she is not yet a well-known massage therapist and believed that a player like Watson probably had access to an entire team of coaches. However, at the same time, as the Claimant, like many small business owners, was actively trying to grow his business and expand his customer base, the Claimant was excited and encouraged that a professional soccer player wanted to use his services. “

Watson and the masseuse exchanged several messages on Instagram, says the process, in which Watson described what he was looking for and told the masseuse that he wanted to focus specifically on his “buttocks and groin area and asked if she felt comfortable working on it. areas. ”

The lawsuit states that Watson and the masseuse continued the phone conversation and decided to make an appointment in Houston on August 28, 2020, at the Houstonian Hotel, Club and Spa.

Watson took the massage therapist from Atlanta to Houston, according to the lawsuit. When the masseuse found Watson at the hotel, the suit says, he was completely naked and stood on the massage table with his “penis” completely exposed.

The suit also states that Watson specifically asked the woman to work on the “inside of her anus” and on her “genitals”.

When Watson fell on his back, the suit says, the masseuse handed him a towel to cover himself, but he refused. Shortly after, the masseuse alleges in the action that she felt uncomfortable and interrupted the massage and asked to leave.

“Watson grabbed her hand and started rubbing her arm, pulling her towards him, saying ‘It’s okay, it’s okay.’ Claimant has left, ”according to the lawsuit.

The suit says the masseuse received only half of her payment from Watson, but was too upset to ask for the other half. The suit also states that Watson approached the woman months later saying he was in Atlanta and asked if she was available.

The massage therapist is looking for “minimal compensatory damage” and “suffered mental distress as a result of Watson’s behavior,” says the lawsuit. The lawsuit says she was always a professional, but sometimes she blames herself. The lawsuit says she has suffered from panic attacks and suffers from depression and anxiety – all of which she is seeking counseling to resolve, the lawsuit says.

The lawsuit seeks a jury trial and notes that the plaintiff “made a good faith effort to resolve this matter before filing this lawsuit”.

The process requires that all evidence – including electronic data, mapping data and location data – be preserved and maintained with respect to this incident.

KPRC2 legal analyst Brian Wice says it will be up to a jury or judge to decide who is telling the truth.

“This is the case he said she said,” said Wice. “The court exists so that citizens can resolve their differences based on evidence, because it is not what we know, it is what we can prove.”

Buzbee said that since opening the first sexual assault case against Watson on Tuesday, he has received several death threats and several people have harassed his children.

“The mentality of blaming the victim (or the lawyers) is alive and well !! I love football as much as anyone (although I was never a Texan fan). But I don’t love it very much. It makes me shake my head that people are so passionate about football to the point of irrationality, while at the same time they don’t care who the mayor or president will be, ”read Buzbee’s social media post, in part.

Watson responded to reports of the first lawsuit filed on Tuesday, saying in a tweet that he did not see the complaint made against him, but says he never treated any woman with anything other than “the highest respect” and hopes to clarify his name.
