Broward Health has announced that it will start giving the COVID-19 vaccine to certain members of the public as of Wednesday – before saying they are filled with consultations as early as February.
Patients must meet the following criteria:
- People aged 65 and over
- Broward Health accredited doctors office staff
- Emergency medical services personnel
- Non-accredited community health care providers who do not have access to the vaccine, as well as their office staff
Vaccines are also available to all Broward Health employees and accredited medical staff at Broward Health hospitals.
Eligible community members should call Broward Health’s Nurse Connect line at 954-759-7500 to schedule an appointment.
“We are doing everything possible to increase capacity and fully restore service,” officials said in a statement. “We apologize for any inconvenience, as we try to meet the needs of our community.”
Broward Health has announced that it will begin giving the COVID-19 vaccine to some members of the public as of Wednesday, December 30.
After making an appointment, you will be told where to get the vaccine.
Accredited medical staff members must call the regional medical staff office to schedule an appointment.
The Broward County Department of Health announced on Wednesday that it would start vaccinating residents 65 and older from Sunday. Residents can register for an appointment by clicking this link, but are advised that appointments are currently limited.
“We are excited about the opportunity to start vaccinating our elderly population, which is disproportionately affected by COVID-19, as we continue to work every day to protect our community during this pandemic.” said Dr. Paula Thaqi, Director of the Florida Department of Health in Broward County.
Broward Health aims to vaccinate 15 to 20 people per hour, which will total around 150 people per day.
“This is monumental and it reaches a milestone in this pandemic that we can offer the vaccine to our citizens who meet the criteria,” said Dr. Aldo Calvo, Medical Director of Outpatient Services.
The Cleveland Clinic and the Jackson Health System have announced that they will begin distributing vaccines to certain members of the public.
The Cleveland Clinic announced that it would also give vaccines to members of the public that met certain criteria, including age 65 and older, as well as first responders and those with high-risk medical conditions. For more information on scheduling a meeting, call 954-659-5950.
Jackson Health in Miami-Dade announced that it would start giving the vaccine to members of the public aged 65 and older starting this week, before launching an online platform next week allowing residents to request an appointment.
