Horizon Zero Dawn had a lot of bugs when it was released for PC last year. It was a shame, considering it was the first PlayStation exclusive bug to make the jump to the PC. But Guerrilla Games has been constantly updating to fix all kinds of problems, and yesterday the game received its 1.10 patch, adding a few more bug fixes and performance improvements.
Notably, this patch marks the beginning of Guerrilla slowing down its HZD updates, so they can shift their focus to work on the game’s sequel, Horizon Forbidden West.
“As our team continues to develop our next Horizon Forbidden West title, we are moving to less frequent updates for Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition for PC after this patch. Please note that we will continue to monitor our community spaces as usual! ” they said.
“We want to thank everyone for their continued support and for submitting their failure reports over the past few months. The information we received through your reports was invaluable to investigate further and help fix some of the more complicated issues we fixed in Patch 1.10. “
Strangely, these quotes are no longer on the Guerrilla website. They were there when the post aired yesterday, but they appear to have been removed now. It’s a wonder why – there doesn’t seem to be any particularly sensitive information there. It seems like a pretty natural assumption that the Horizon team would be working harder on the game right now, and I can’t think of any reason for them to get rid of their “thanks” to the community.
I contacted Guerrilla Games to ask why they removed these pieces, but I haven’t received an answer yet.
Horizon Forbidden West was announced in June last year and is due to be released later this year. It is not clear now whether it will start on the PC; at the moment it looks like it will be a PlayStation scloosie.
Despite its many bugs (like the hilarious one that accidentally made the main character Aloy a small child forever), Nate still found the game brilliant in his Horizon Zero Dawn review, saying, “It’s one of the most attractive and beautiful adventures in the world. open always done. “
