Fans of the perennial Christmas classic Home Alone 2: Lost In New York are calling for the removal of Donald Trump’s brief participation.
The outcry followed the Capitol insurrection by an armed pro-Trump crowd that left five dead, including a police officer.
The leaving president appears in a scene in which he points Macaulay Culkin’s character, Kevin, to the lobby of the Plaza Hotel, which he owned at the time of the 1992 film.

Stop it: Home Alone 2 fans have asked that President Donald Trump’s cameo be removed after Wednesday’s deadly Capitol insurrection by a pro-Trump armed crowd
The scene has outraged the president’s critics since he was elected in 2016, but the violent riot on Capitol Hill last week pushed criticism of the scene to its limit.
‘I will not rest until he is removed from that scene in Home Alone 2,’ wrote Matt Navarra on Twitter.
Andrew Hunter Murray has escalated things by writing that Trump ‘should be tried, arrested and digitally removed from Home Alone 2’.
While technology makes it easier than ever to digitally remove a person from a film or even replace it, the scene has no meaningful purpose in the plot and is short enough that it can be easily edited without damaging the structural integrity of the film .

Violence: Wednesday’s riot left five people dead, including a policeman, and many blamed Trump for inciting violence in a speech and tweets just before the riot

Another Twitter user joked that ‘Donald Trump is the first cast member of Home Alone 2 to attempt a political coup.’
Others referred to Kevin Spacey’s digital elimination of the 2017 film All The Money In The World.
He played oil magnate J. Paul Getty, but after several men accused him of sexual harassment and assault, he was replaced by Christopher Plummer.
“Disney + has announced that Christopher Plummer will now tell Kevin where the lobby is in Home Alone 2,” wrote one user.
Another person tweeted, ‘Tonight was so bad that they’ll have to digitally replace Trump in Home Alone 2 with Kevin Spacey.’

Trump has made numerous cameos in film and television over the years.
A short scene in Sex And The City shows Samantha sipping a cocktail at the bar while looking and watching the future president sitting at a table and having a business meeting over drinks, although Trump doesn’t drink alcohol in real life.
Trump and his wife Melania were introduced in a brief scene in the 2001 comedy Ben Stiller, Zoolander.
The documentary-style footage was shot on the red carpet at the VH1 Fashion Awards, where Trump was happy to talk about the fictional title character for the cameras.

He scoffed at his own image with a role in the 1994 film version of The Little Rascals, a rare time when he didn’t play himself.
Instead, he played the father of the spoiled, rich boy Waldo, who saw Waldo saying that he is the best son ‘money can buy’ while talking on his cell phone.
Trump also made appearances on the soap Days of Our Lives, and he shaved Vince McMahon’s hair during an appearance at WrestleMania 23.
Although the filmmakers may have tried to get special appearances from the outgoing president because of his star power, he allegedly demanded that people trying to film on his properties write a small paper for him.
Speaking to Insider in November, director of Home Alone 2, Christopher Columbus, said Trump would not allow the production to pay a standard fee for filming in the lobby of the Plaza Hotel, which he owned at the time.
Instead, he demanded to be given a cameo.
“We paid the fee, but he also said, ‘The only way for you to use the Plaza is if I’m in the movie,'” recalled Columbus. “So we agreed to put him in the movie.”

Non-negotiable: Matt Damon and director of Home Alone 2, Christopher Columbus, claim that Trump demanded that the productions give him a special stake in exchange for permission to film on his properties; seen shaving Vince McMahon’s head at WrestleMania 23
At the time, the scene received applause from the crowd watching the film, so Columbus left the scene.
“But he intimidated his way into the film,” he added.
Matt Damon also stated that Trump needed scenes for himself in order to shoot in his buildings.
“The deal was that if you wanted to shoot in one of his buildings, you would have to write to him in part,” the Ocean’s 11 star told The Hollywood Reporter in 2017, when asked if he met Trump.
‘[Director] Martin Brest had to write something in Scent Of A Woman – and the whole team was at it. You have to waste an hour of your day shooting at the target. Donald Trump enters and Al Pacino says, “Hello, Mr. Trump!” – you had to call him by name – and then he leaves. ‘
