Hannity: Democrats are addicted to impeachment ‘like a drug’

Democrats and the mainstream media have developed an addiction to their “angry fantasy land” when it comes to former President Donald Trump, Sean Hannity told viewers on the eve of Trump’s second Senate impeachment trial.

The “Hannity” host said on Monday that “former President Trump will be acquitted” in what he considered an unconstitutional trial and a worrying demonstration of “swamp ugliness”.

“This is nothing more than political theater. The lines will be scripted, they will be presented with great passion. It will be like a Broadway play that you don’t have to pay for or watch. We already know how it ends,” he said.

The host explained that the Senate has no jurisdiction over an ordinary citizen, nor can it “remove from office a person he no longer holds.

“But,” he continued, “it doesn’t matter to Democrats. The media crowd is living in their fantasy land full of fury. It’s like a drug. They can’t give up.”

Hannity urged Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer to extend the trial for “weeks and months” to give the American people a chance to “fully absorb how shallow you and your party members are.

“We are going to learn about the obvious double standard and the hypocrisy that permeates Washington and all its ugliness in the swamp,” said Hannity. “This is not, never has been, a serious process. It is a false political judgment,” he said.

“Are we the only ones who see what a complete farce, what a parody of justice is this?” he added. “What a colossal waste of taxpayer money and time.”
