Halsey photo apologizes for triggering eating disorder

Halsey issued an apology on Monday to anyone caused by a photo she shared showing her struggle with an eating disorder.

It all started when the singer “You Should Be Sad” took part in the “post a photo” trend on Instagram. A fan asked Halsey to share a photo of himself “at its lowest point,” according to Just Jared. In the now deleted post, Halsey responded by sharing a shirtless mirror selfie in which she looked very thin.

“TW: ED, ask for help,” wrote Halsey. (“TW” means “trigger alert”, while “ED” means “eating disorder”.)

In a follow-up message, the 26-year-old said that “I’m sorry for posting a picture of me depicting my struggle with ED without a sufficient trigger warning.”

“I was too nervous to post and I didn’t think straight. I had positive intentions. I would never want to harm someone who shares my struggle, ”she tweeted before ending the night.

“This has turned into something that I am not emotionally equipped to deal with yet. I hope everything is fine, ”she added.

Halsey has been open to fans about every aspect of her life, from body image problems to mental health problems. She attacked both of them in her hit song “Nightmare”.

“I think, for me, a big part of my new responsibility as a model, I feel very adamant about keeping things realistic. My body is always changing, that is part of being a woman. I have been very frank about my struggles with reproductive health, which makes my weight fluctuate, ”Halsey told Radio.com last year.

“So, sometimes I’m on the stage at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and I’m tiny and have been working out and eating well,” she continued. “So, there are times when, you know – I was a little bigger than I’m used to being on the Met Gala red carpet, but I didn’t punish myself for it. I wasn’t going to diet or starve. “

Many of Halsey’s 13 million Twitter followers sent messages of support following the photo incident.
