Hailey Baldwin talks about marrying Justin Bieber at an ‘insanely young age’: ‘We’ve seen a lot’

Hailey Baldwin is opening up about marriage at age 21.

The now 24-year-old model recently opened up to Elle about marrying Justin Bieber in 2018 and what it was like to dive into marriage at such a young age.

“I got married when I was 21, two months before I turned 22, which is incredibly young,” Baldwin told the channel. “And it sounds almost ridiculous when you say it out loud.”

“Although I think someone like me and Justin, [it’s different]”she continued.” We saw a lot for our age. We have both lived long enough to know that is what we wanted. “

Baldwin, who is on the cover of the April issue of Elle, also discussed the lack of anonymity that she and Bieber, now 27, faced in the early days of their marriage.

“At the beginning of our marriage, I just wanted to hide,” confessed Baldwin. “I was like, ‘I don’t want people that much in my business. I feel like everyone is in my a–. ‘ I was like, ‘Can’t there be anonymity? Can I have it back? ‘ “

The flood of media and public scrutiny eventually became so dominant that Baldwin permanently disabled comments on his Instagram account.

“I remember someone telling me that [turning off the public comments] it really decreases your engagement. And I was like, ‘I could care about the engagement! People are terrifying me. Engagement, enschagement. I do not mind! ‘”Said Baldwin.

In February, Baldwin appeared in an episode of “Going for Goal” by Women’s Health UK and revealed that he sees a therapist “consistently” to deal with the stress of fame and the negativity that comes with it.

“The way I dealt with a lot of attention, negative attention, lies and just the media in general is that I talked a lot with a therapist,” she explained. “I do therapy consistently. I think being able to process these things and process those feelings helped a lot.”

Baldwin also mentioned that exercising, praying and deleting social media apps from her phone are other ways for her to be in the spotlight – noting that she stopped reading comments online.

“I don’t read comments. I close my comments on my personal page, so only the people I follow can comment. That really changed a lot for me because I know that everyone I follow will be positive in the comments.”

“I think for a while it was like people made me feel like I had to explain myself when the reality is that I just don’t owe them anything,” added Baldwin.
