GTA 6 fans worried after comments from parent company Rockstar Games

Some new comments from Rockstar Games’ parent company Take-Two Interactive have PS5 and Xbox Series X players looking forward to GTA 6 a little worried and holding their wallets tightly. On PS5 and Xbox Series X, some games cost $ 70. On PS4 and Xbox One, games never exceeded the $ 60 price we had for more than a decade. And some games still cost $ 60, however, slowly but surely publishers are moving towards the $ 70 price range. Last year, Take-Two Interactive charged $ 70 for NBA 2K21 on PS5 and Xbox Series X. And now it looks like you can charge $ 70 for more games in the future, which has Grand Theft Auto fans on alert.

As expected, there was some reaction against the price increase of some games, but apparently not enough. During the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom conference this month, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick revealed that Take-Two believes that consumers are ready for the increase.

“We announced a price of $ 70 for NBA 2K21, and our vision is that we are offering a range of extraordinary experiences, a lot of reproduction capacity, and the last time there was a price increase on the front line in the USA was in 2005, 2006, so we think consumers are ready “said the CEO.

Fortunately for Grand Theft Auto fans, Zelnick went on to note that he and his team do not think that all games will come at this price because not all games justify the increase; however, it looks like their biggest games are going to make that leap.

“We haven’t said anything about the price of other titles so far and we tend to make headlines for headlines, but I think our vision is always to add more value.”

During the same conference, Zelnick also – finally – addressed the rumors and speculations of GTA 6, although, unsurprisingly, his response was not very revealing.

At the time of publication, Grand Theft Auto VI has not been confirmed or announced. However, it has been a subject of constant rumors, reports and leaks, all of which you can follow by clicking here. In the meantime, as always, feel free to leave a comment or two with your opinion or, alternatively, tell me on Twitter @Tyler_Fischer_. Would you be willing to pay $ 70 for GTA 6.
