Tourism is great at Meredith Gray’s Purgatory Beach. Grey’s Anatomy Fan favorite Chyler Leigh, who played Mer’s long-lost half sister from season three to season eight, will appear in the April 1 episode next week. On a new promotion, the sisters get together for the saddest girl trip of all time (cry the warning: the teaser is set to “Breath (2 AM)” by Anna Nalick). Lexie asks Meredith the question we’ve been asking all season: “Are you going to stay?” Grey’s younger sister, Lexie, was the first victim of the deadly plane crash in season eight that also claimed the life of Lexie’s “person”, Mark “McSteamy” Sloan. Together, they put Gray-Sloan at the Gray-Sloan Memorial. A memory that is no more, Leigh – now starring at CW’s Supergirl – joins TR Knight and Patrick Dempsey as one of the many victims of the show that reappears on the beach alongside Meredith as she fights the COVID-19 virus.

After 16 years of challenging death, season 17 could be the end of Shonda Rhimes’ medical drama. As the show is still in renewal negotiations with star Ellen Pompeo, showrunner Krista Vernoff is doing everything for a story that could also work as the end of the series. Even Sarah Drew, who plays April Kepner, one of the few doctors to escape alive, returns in an upcoming episode. According to the deadline, Vernoff itself signed a new general contract with ABC Signature, where it also produces Station 19 and Rebel. O Grey’s Anatomy x Supergirl crossover that we don’t think is possible will air Thursday, April 1st, and no, it’s not a joke.
