Gift from Carolina football player, signed young fan

SeaShawn Lloyd he hasn’t even played in the South Carolina uniform, but the young running back has already made a lifelong supporter. WLTX Sports reporter Chandler Mack shared Lloyd’s story by presenting a pair of autographed boots to Gamecocks fan Tripp Roche.

Lloyd is trying to recover from a torn ACL suffered in the first week of the 2020 pre-season camp. He will still have a freshman rating in 2021 due to last season not counting towards the eligibility schedule. Lloyd was on the line to play a significant role in last season’s attack before falling for the season. In its place, second year Kevin harris led the SEC in yard racing with 1,138. It is unclear whether Lloyd will participate in spring 2021 training, which is expected to begin in late March.

Lloyd was South Carolina’s biggest offensive signer in the 2020 class, a four-star running back from DeMatha’s 247Sports Composite (No. 43 overall) Catholic in Maryland. Lloyd is a native of Wilmington, Del.
