Giannis Antetokounmpo throws 85%, scores 47 in the rout of the Portland Trail Blazers

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 47 points, but missed just three shots in the Milwaukee Bucks ‘win over the Portland Trail Blazers’ four-game winning streak, with a 127-109 win on Friday night.

Jrue Holiday added 22 points and 10 assists for Bucks, who led by 24 points during the third quarter.

The game featured two of the league’s top scorers: Damian Lillard averaged 29.8 points, the second in the NBA, while Antetokounmpo came in fifth with 28.3.

But Antetokounmpo had a hot hand on Friday, hitting all 18 shots within the 3-point arc. He drew with Wilt Chamberlain for the most number of 2-point field goals made without losing, according to ESPN statistics and information.

An initial 11-0 run helped the Bucks jump to a 19-7 lead. Milwaukee led by 14 points during the first half, but the Blazers narrowed the gap to 60-53 before going into the break.

Lillard’s 3 points put Portland in 60-58 at the start of the fourth period, but the Bucks did not allow the Blazers to get closer. The holiday basket extended Milwaukee’s lead to 86-70, and the Bucks ended the quarter with an 11-1 run.

The Bucks dominated the painting all night, and no one more than twice the MVP. Antetokounmpo overcame the Trail Blazers 47-46 in the two-point range and the free-throw line, the first player to accomplish this feat, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

The Blazers’ bench struggled, going from 0 to 16 on the pitch in the first three quarters. Anfernee Simons hit a 3-point mark at the beginning of the quarter to end the drought.

Milwaukee came from a 112-97 victory at the Lakers on Wednesday, which resulted in a streak of three games lost.
