Gender reveals plane crash: 2 killed after maneuver in Cancún

CANCUN, Mexico – Two people died after a plane involved in a gender-reveal maneuver in Mexico crashed into the water.

The incident occurred on Monday afternoon at Cancun’s Nichupté Lagoon, according to Quintana Roo Nautical Associates, a private nautical business association that it said helped with the rescue mission.

A video of the revealed genre shows the plane flying over the beach and emitting pink smoke, while people applaud and shout “Nina!” – Spanish for “girl”.

The camera then pans and captures the small aircraft when it falls into the water.

One person died during the accident and a second person died after being rescued, the attorney general’s office in the state of Quintana Roo confirmed to ABC News on Thursday.

The deceased passengers were not identified by the authorities.
