Gayle King says Meghan Markle has “documents” to support Oprah Winfrey’s interview statements

Meghan Markle has evidence behind the claims she made during her revealing interview with Oprah Winfrey, according to journalist and friend Gayle King.

“Meghan has documents to support everything she said in Oprah’s interview. Everything,” King confirmed on Tuesday morning on “CBS This Morning”.

During the interview, the Duchess of Sussex said that when she was pregnant with her son, Archie, there were “concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might look when he is born”.

Markle also said his help was denied when he said “to the institution” that he was having suicidal thoughts.

In addition, they did not correct false stories about her in the British tabloids, including one that said she made Kate Middleton cry before her wedding when the opposite occurred.

King’s comments echo what Markle’s friend, actress Janina Gavankar, told Britain’s “This Morning” last week that Markle has “lots of emails and text messages” that support her side of the story.

“I know that the family and employees were well aware of the extent of the [Markle’s issues], and although their memories may vary, ours do not, because we live with them “, said Gavankar.

The CBS anchor also said that Prince Harry and his brother Prince William and his father Prince Charles have spoken since the interview.

“The word they gave me was that these conversations were not productive,” said King. “But they are happy that at least they started a conversation.

“And I think what still worries them is that the palace keeps saying that they want to resolve this in particular, but still, they believe that these false stories are coming up and are very disparaging against Meghan,” she added.

King, who attended Markle’s baby shower in New York City in 2019, clarified that “no one in the royal family has talked to Meghan yet, at this specific time.”

She also defended Markle against accusations of intimidation during her time as a real job.

“The issue of bullying was raised in 2018 and now there is an investigation underway on Meghan Markle’s bullying, when anyone who worked with her will say exactly who she is,” said King. “You know, she really is a very sweet and caring person.”
