‘Game of Thrones’ at 10: HBO sets plans for an iron month anniversary

HBO announced the release of The Iron Anniversary, a month-long celebration to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the premiere of the “Game of Thrones” series.

Included in the celebration are an interactive “Game of Thrones” page featured on HBO Max (which is now live), as well as a “Game of Thrones” “MaraThrone” from all episodes of Season 1. In addition, Warner Bros. Consumer Products is launching a new line, including a unique Fabergé Imperial egg, a variety of Mikkeller beers inspired by the series and a variety of Funko Pop figures with an iron texture.

The “Game of Thrones” featured page on the WarnerMedia streamer will feature a wide introduction to the world and characters for new viewers, as well as spoiler curation with Easter eggs for diehard fans. In addition, subscribers will be able to broadcast more than 150 videos of interviews with the cast, backstage extras, clips and trailers.

The Game of Thrones MaraThrone will air its first season on April 10, starting at 10am on HBO2. But with all the episodes broadcast on HBO Max, fans will be encouraged to eat several collections of episodes from the series separately, to raise money for philanthropic causes. For two weeks, cast members of the Emmy-winning drama series will highlight these causes, which include Women for Women International, World Central Kitchen, Conservation International, International Rescue Committee (IRC), UNICEF, FilmAid International, SameYou, Royal Mencap Society, National Urban League and the Trevor Project.

“Game of Thrones” may have come to an end in 2020, but your franchise will live on for a long time. Your next prequel series “House of the Dragon” is scheduled to start production this year, for example. The prequel takes place a few hundred years before the events of “Game of Thrones” and tells the story of the Targaryen House and the Targaryen civil war that became known as the “Dance of the Dragons”. The series received a 10-episode order with the goal of premiering in 2022.

“House of the Dragon” is just one of several “Game of Thrones” TV projects currently in progress. Variety reported exclusively that a series “Tales of Dunk and Egg” is in early development on HBO, while an animated project “Game of Thrones” is under construction at HBO Max.
