Future Bethesda games will be exclusive to Game Pass platforms, Microsoft will continue to support current cross-platform games

It appears that future Bethesda titles will in fact be exclusive to “platforms where there is a Game Pass”, according to Xbox boss Phil Spencer.

Speaking during today’s Xbox and Bethesda roundtable, Spencer basically reiterated what he said earlier this week about whether Zenimax Media’s new games will be cross-platform.

The company will still honor current contractual obligations, such as those with Sony for Ghostwire: Tokyo and Death Loop.

“We have games that exist on other platforms and we are going to support those games on the platforms they are on,” said Spencer. “There are communities of players, and we love those communities and we will continue to invest in them and, even in the future, there may be things that have contractual things or a legacy on different platforms.

“But if you are an Xbox customer, what I want you to know is that it is about delivering great exclusive games for you that come on platforms where the Game Pass exists, and that is our goal. That is why we are doing this, this is the root of this partnership that we are building, and the creative capacity that we will be able to bring to the market for Xbox customers will be the best ever for Xbox. “

Therefore, to reiterate, games that are currently available on platforms other than Xbox, such as Doom Eternal and The Elder Scrolls Online, will continue to be supported, and future games will likely only reach platforms that have Xbox Game Pass, which will not it should come as a surprise.

As for the upcoming games from Bethesda and other family studios, there was no news during the round table; however, Microsoft and Bethesda said more will be revealed at a showcase scheduled this summer.

Perhaps at this time, we will finally hear more about Starfield, but probably not The Elder Scrolls 6, as it will be released after the sci-fi title. We can prove that we are wrong, as we are not very good at guessing things, which is why we never bet on the track.
