Fortnite’s Season 5 is still going strong, with more crosses than players could expect, but it won’t be long before season 6 starts. With Chapter 2 of Season 6 scheduled to start sometime this month, players have a new theme, cosmetics, another battle pass and more to wait for. While most of the next season remains a secret, like all previous seasons, players at least have some likely answers to some of their most pressing questions about the next season.
Fortunately, past seasons have given us at least an idea of how things are going to happen when Season 5 moves to Season 6. We’ll see some kind of big event happen that leads to a theme loosely connected to what’s happening at the moment, and Season 6 will continue to build on that theme until you forget what happened in Season 5 and how we got there. Epic Games usually announces the official start dates and times for the next season, announcing when the current end of season event will take place, but it hasn’t happened yet. Until this kind of announcement happens, the battle pass always gives us an idea of when one season ends and the other begins.
According to the game information for the current battle pass, the season 5 pass will be available until March 15. Previous interruptions between seasons were brief and consisted of only a few short downtime periods to allow major events to take place while the game was undergoing maintenance to review the map and other features, so Season 6 will likely start on March 16, an Tuesday, unless it starts before that.
One of the constants in Fifteen days it’s the big event at the end of each season that starts all over again. Whether it involves Galactus or something totally original for the Battle Royale game, these events are always a sight to behold and constantly try to outdo the previous one.
For season 5, whatever the final event, it will inevitably be focused on the Zero Point entity that is hovering over the map throughout the season. Datamining efforts have found evidence that the Zero Point sphere has become unstable and have even suggested that these changes could affect players’ voice communications, but that part is yet to be seen. We will almost certainly see Ponto Zero at the center of everything that happens to bring the new season.
Datamining efforts consistently reveal the next skins for the current season, but are not so useful when it comes to predicting what’s to come. However, we do have some previews of things that may be coming in season 6, as well as some ideas that players have about how we’re going to arrive this season.
Some players have pointed out that the portals that appear around the map this season appear to have been strategically placed to form a cube shape. The importance of this remains to be seen, but it seems unlikely that it was unintended.
It was also suggested that Fifteen days could get AI powered vehicles in the future. With only about 10 days left before the new season starts, that sort of thing looks like something that would be used in season 6, perhaps after being introduced to the final season 5 event.
Without knowing what the theme of the next season is, it is even more difficult to predict what will happen in the battle. We will have to wait for some leaks between now and March 15th to convey what they can about next season’s battle pass.
