Former Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton offered a joint video statement of bipartisan support to President Joe Biden on Wednesday as part of the closing events of his inauguration.
Together, the three former presidents – two Democrats and one Republican – expressed their commitment to America’s democracy across all party lines, reflecting the reason for Biden’s campaign for unity in a divisive era. They emphasized that Americans must come together to overcome the country’s urgent issues, including the coronavirus pandemic, which has already claimed more than 400,000 Americans.
“Everyone needs to get off their horse and reach out to their friends and neighbors and try to make it possible,” said Clinton.
