Fernando Tatis Jr. leaves the San Diego Padres game with left shoulder subluxation

SAN DIEGO – The Padres star’s replacement, Fernando Tatis Jr., was injured by taking a heavy blow on Monday night and immediately left the game against the San Francisco Giants.

Tatis hit the blow against Anthony DeSclafani and shuddered in pain as he fell to the ground. He cradled his left arm as he stood up, and two coaches helped to hold his left arm against his body when he left the field.

The Fathers later said that Tatis left with a subluxation of the left shoulder, which is a partial dislocation of a joint. It will be reevaluated Tuesday.

Tatis, 22, left a game at the end of spring training with discomfort in his left shoulder, but returned two days later. Coach Jayce Tingler then said that Tatis had been dealing with discomfort in his left shoulder since his days in the secondary league. Tatis later said that he had had it since the rookie ball.

Tatis made five mistakes in the first four games.

He signed the longest contract in the history of the major league on February 22, a 14-year, $ 340 million deal.
