But there were no queues on Saturday at the Gateway Mall.
“I think now is just the point of getting the message back to the community that they can come here and get the injection,” said Demita Gamble, who was vaccinated on Saturday.
FEMA said approximately 790 people were vaccinated on Saturday at the Gateway Mall. This is just over a third of the 2,000 doses you can administer on the spot per day.
It was a rainy ending to the COVID-19 vaccinations on the first Saturday at the Gateway Town Center.
“I expected there to be a longer queue,” said a professor in Duval County.
“I don’t think it’s being advertised enough, and a lot of people don’t really know what’s going on,” said Roosevelt Gamble, who was vaccinated.
There have been many changes in who can and cannot take the photo on this site. Some people said that this may be part of the reason why there is not much attendance at the moment.
“I think a lot of people are skeptical and kind of scared,” said Maxine Frison, who got the vaccine on Saturday.
