Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars Clone Wars fan favorites Ahsoka Tano (voiced by Ashley Eckstein / played in live-action by Rosario Dawson) and Bo-Katan Kryze (both voiced and portrayed by Katee Sackhoff) appeared to help Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu (also known as The Child, also known as Baby Yoda) in several episodes of The Mandalorian Season 2, including the season’s final epic (“Chapter 16: The Rescue”).

Now, as we prepare for the first of several Mandalorian spinoffs – Boba Fett’s Book, released in December 2021 – fans are clamoring for another Dave Filoni character Clone Wars to be released in live action.

Slashfilm has that to say about bounty hunter Cad Bane, who first appeared on Star Wars Clone Wars Final episode of the 1st season (“Hostage Crisis”):

With his big eyes and long, narrow face, Bane offers a very strange-looking alien. This, however, is offset by its influence on Spaghetti Western. Bane wears a wide-brimmed hat and chews toothpicks. He speaks with slurred, dry speech. From his initial moments, Bane steals the screen and demands attention through pure coldness. If Clint Eastwood were a Star Wars character, this would be him.

This coldness is magnified by the fact that, despite having no superpowers or anything, Cad Bane is an incredible bounty hunter, thief, kidnapper and whatever else people pay him to be. The character repeatedly faces the Jedi and leaves unscathed.

Bane is not a crucial character in Clone Wars. As Slashfilm points out, he hardly feels anything more than an “interesting side noise” in the midst of a war-torn galaxy. This could, however, be a perfect fit for Mandalorian next chapter of showrunner Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, Boba Fett’s Book, who is set to introduce Temuera Morrison as the iconic beskar bounty hunter and Ming-Na Wen as sniper Fennec Shand – and, if The Mandalorian The final credits scene for the second season is any indication – we’re going back to Tatooine, where crime syndicates (hi, Jabba the Hutt and Bib Fortuna) have been in fashion for all 40 years of the Skywalker Saga.

Although Bane does not necessarily play a critical role in the comprehensive history of Clone Wars, he developed many followers, with many fans preferring him to other villains in the animated series, such as Moralo Eval and even Count Dooku.

All of this sounds like the perfect backdrop for Bane to make his debut in live action on Star Wars universe. Star Wars fans agree – let’s take a look at the buzz of social media.

Jon Favreau previously expressed that he wishes Star Wars creatives to hear the Star Wars fan community – this would be the perfect opportunity for him to continue paying for the fan service that he and Filoni manage with such confidence.

Another thing that indicates that we could see Bane’s introduction sooner or later is the fact that a Star Wars The Black Series action figure version is due for release in March 2021 and is perfect for any Star Wars collection.

Entertainment Earth describes the 6-inch Hasbro action figure as:

Bounty hunter! Thug! Jedi Fighter! The Star Wars The Black Series Cad Bane 6-inch Action Figure brings you the cowardly villain of The Clone Wars with all its super-articulated glory, in addition to his big hat. Includes blaster pistols.

It is intriguing that the Cad Bane merchandise hits the shelves in early 2021, when it is almost certain that we will begin to obtain additional information about the cast Boba Fet’s Bookt. Coincidence or not?

At this point, the only other confirmed Star Wars Disney + series for 2021 is the animation show, Star Wars: The Bad Batch. The Mandalorian Session 3, Ahsokaand New Republic Rangers has no official release dates yet.

However, the Star Wars galaxy expected to expand significantly in the coming years, with at least 11 Series – including the return of Anakin Skywalker/ Darth Vader (Hayden Christensen) at OBI-WAN KENOBI: An original Seriess – and three feature films announced.

What are your thoughts? Cad Bane should be in Boba Fett’s Book? Who do you think should play the relentless bounty hunter?
