As expected in the last few days, James Cameron’s Avatar switched places with Avengers: Endgame, claiming the highest grossing film title in the world. The reissue of the 2009 3D science fiction phenomenon in China cost about RMB 58 million (US $ 8.9 million) until 5 pm local time on Saturday, after the re-launch on Friday in the market. That closes and bridges the $ 7.82 million gap between the two films before China’s reissue. Disney / Marvel’s Endgame previously snatched the top global crown from Avatar in July 2019. The current (and fluid) Avatar the global total is estimated at $ 2,798,579,794 against Endgameof $ 2,797,501,328.
The numbers in Avatar, which was originally launched in China in early 2010 and raised nearly $ 203 million at the time – a huge figure before the market started to expand exponentially – will continue to grow for the rest of today and in the coming days. The China Avatar The relaunch had been discussed for a long time, but the film suddenly appeared on the calendar earlier this week. Speaking to China.org on Thursday, Cameron said the film is as relevant today as it was when it was released more than a decade ago. “We have climate change, we have deforestation, our relationship with nature is more threatened than ever, and Avatar it’s about those things, but it’s also a timeless movie. Some people criticize the stories for being too simple. It wasn’t that simple – it was universal. It was something that everyone everywhere could understand and with which they were emotionally related. It is important to note that Avatar had a handful of re-releases since its original execution, while Endgame earned almost all of its money in 2019.
Cameron has been actively working on the sequences. Disney scheduled Avatar 2 for December 16, 2022; part 3 for December 20, 2024; part 4 for December 18, 2026; and part five for December 22, 2028.
