Emma Corrin wins the TV Drama Actress Golden Globe

Emma Corrin won her first grand prize right away, winning the statue of the actress from the dramatic series at the 78th Annual Golden Globe Awards for her interpretation of Princess Diana in Netflix’s “The Crown”.

Corrin joined the 4th season of the royal family’s streaming period to capture Diana in her early teens, meeting and being courted by Prince Charles (Josh O’Connor), during her transition to the People’s Princess and her rocky wedding .

Corrin was overjoyed to accept the award, saying, “Thank you, thank you so much. Many thanks to HFPA for this incredible honor. What!”

Among those on Corrin’s thanks list was co-star O’Connor, whom she called “Prince Charming”.

“Thanks to my Prince Charming, Josh [O’Connor], I couldn’t have done it without you, ”Corrin said. “Thank you for making every day beside me a complete joy.”

O’Connor was also nominated for a Golden Globe for best actor in a dramatic TV series for his performance in “The Crown”.

Corrin also paid tribute to Diana during her acceptance speech, detailing the impact she has had on her life and career.

“And most of all, thank you very much to Diana,” Corrin said. “You taught me compassion and empathy beyond measure I could imagine. On behalf of everyone who remembers you with so much affection and passion in our hearts, thank you. “

Corrin was nominated alongside co-star “The Crown” (and category winner) Olivia Colman, as well as “Killing Eve” Jodie Comer, “Ozark” Laura Linney and “Ratched” Sarah Paulson.
