Eminem apparently retaliated in a TikTok campaign trying to cancel it because of ‘problematic’ lyrics in one of his old songs.
The American rapper, 48, was a trend in the the popular social media app after a series of videos highlighted a controversial line from her 2010 song, Love The Way You Lie with Rihanna.
In the song, Eminem – whose real name is Marshall Mathers – raps: ‘I know I’m a liar, if she tries to leave again, I’ll tie her to the bed and set this house on fire.’

TikTok users suggested that the lyrics ‘glorify domestic violence’ and called the song ‘problematic’.
One video says: ‘Yesssss let’s cancel it’, while another wrote: ‘It is not for nothing that I am toxic, I grew up listening to this song.’

He shared a clip of the track on his Twitter, in which he seems to directly address the scandal with a letter that says: ‘I can’t understand a word of what you say, I’m deaf to tones. I think I prefer to stay that way, I’m deaf to tones.

The video for Love The Way You Lie, directed by Joseph Kahn, shows Megan Fox and Dominic Monaghan playing a couple in an abusive relationship.
At the time of the song’s release in 2010, Terry O’Neill, president of the National Organization for Women, said that Rihanna was involuntarily glorifying domestic violence.
“She is telling the story and not judging it,” said O’Neill. – And then she may not have the intention of glorifying you, but she is.
Marjorie Gilberg, executive director of the anti-violence group Break the Cycle, agrees.
“The danger is that pop culture defines our social norms,” she told AP.
‘We don’t want the message of this song to be that this kind of relationship is acceptable.
