Happy week for EmRata and her rugged husband! In a sweet Instagram post, the model and writer announced this afternoon that she and actor / producer Sebastian Bear-McClard welcomed their first baby earlier this week.
“Sylvester Apollo Bear joined us on the earth side,” she captioned an intimate photo of her breastfeeding the newborn. “Sly arrived on 3/21/21 on the most surreal, beautiful and loving morning of my life.”
In the digital elaborate Vogue spread that served as a pregnancy announcement, EmRata shared that she and her husband would not disclose the baby’s gender. “We will not know sex until our son is 18 and they tell us then,” she wrote in an essay that was published last October. “I like the idea of imposing as little gender stereotypes as possible on my son.”
As she writes in the essay, “I want to be a mother who allows my son to show himself to me”, although she recognizes that they will be “faced with undeniable gender constraints and constructions”. And certainly – but what loving and caring parents Sylvester will have. Since EmRata and Bear-McClard were married “surprise” at New York City in February 2018 – after just a few weeks of dating – the couple seems very happy.
Anyway, congratulations! Although we can only see the back of Sylvester’s head on EmRata’s Instagram – and that head is covered by a hat – we assume the baby is very cute and hope to see more pictures.
