Elizabeth Olsen said she was “very aware” of how nepotism affected her career, as she comes from a family of performers.
In an interview with Grazia, Olsen said: “Nepotism is one thing and I am very aware of that.”
Grazia noted that Olsen’s mother, Jarnett Olsen, was a dancer, while her older sisters, twins Mary-Kate and Ashley, starred in “Full House” as children’s actresses. The Olsen twins shared the role of Michelle Tanner on the ABC program from 1987 to 1995, and also appeared in a number of films during and after that time.
Mary-Kate and Ashley created their own fashion brand, The Row, in 2006.
Elizabeth Olsen, however, said she never tried to take advantage of the famous name Olsen or the existing success of her sisters. The “WandaVision” actress said to Grazia: “Of course, I always wanted to do this alone.”
Trying to attack on your own so far has been very good for Olsen’s younger sister. She is currently starring in one of the most talked about TV shows – Disney Plus’s inaugural MCU series, “WandaVision”.
The series follows Wanda of Olsen and Vision of Paul Bettany as a happy couple on various sitcoms discovering that not everything is as it seems. Olsen told Grazia that the show was perfect for her and her.
“I was a very performative and performative child. I think I managed to live some kind of childhood dream by doing the show,” said Olsen.
“WandaVision” has featured many twists and revelations, while fan speculation about where the mysterious show is heading is becoming frantic, such is the show’s popularity.
Olsen has already played Wanda in five MCU films and will play the character again in the next “Doctor Strange” sequel, which “WandaVision” will be directly linked to.
Olsen talked about his sisters countless times. She said recently that she always copies her sisters’ style and clothing options in an interview for SirusXM’s “The Jess Cagle Show”.
“Everything my sisters have used in my entire life, I wanted to wear today. I want your jackets. I want your shoes. I want your dresses. And that is something I never stopped wearing,” Olsen said.
