Elizabeth Olsen and Jac Schaeffer on the pain and journey of the scarlet witch of Wanda Maximoff

Olsen noted the minute details that the creative teams picked up, which Schaeffer worked out: “Producer Mary Livanos and I spent a lot of time studying the scenes at Wanda and Vision’s MCU and obsessed with all the little details. I mean, that paprikash scene [in Captain America: Civil War] it is this classic scene that remains, and for good reason. There is a lot of intimacy in this scene. It is this little pause in the middle of all the chaos. It just seemed to me that they had their own little worlds. ”

Olsen appreciated the details linked to Wanda’s past, “There are only minor details of realizing that certain things were authentically Sokovian that we have not yet been able to put to good use, creating a real culture that has a children’s song – really creating this tangible fake country.” in learning more about the Sokovian children’s song at WandaVision, come here!

As the series navigated Wanda’s mourning stages, Olsen noted how significant it was for the different sitcom inspirations and troops that were able to improve the situation in question. “What I also loved as an additional element of how you structure, the story I leaned on was, the actual decade itself and how that decade used sitcom [tropes] telling these stories is linked to where our character is, “explained Olsen to Variety. “She is losing control over Modern Family for a reason, and it’s not in the 50s. Because the 50s are all together and we don’t see anything that’s happening; we are in the post-World War II, we are like a suburban family and we are having some kind of fucking economy, and you can see that, they really accepted what was happening to them. It is totally necessary for the story we are in. “

Schaeffer was able to maintain his main vision for the series when they started to realize what the story would be. “What we always stick to is that, in the end, it’s her choice,” said Schaeffer. “And we also tell the story of her acceptance of herself as the Scarlet Witch. That is how this huge acceptance sandwich becomes.”
