Elden Ring it is the game that almost everyone wants to hear more about, but nobody knows what’s going on with it. After its first appearance last year at E3 2019, developer FromSoftware and publisher Bandai Namco didn’t say much about the new action title. Fortunately, if a new rumor is true, it looks like we can learn more soon.
According to a recent conversation between an Italian streamer (WesaTwitch) and a Federico Fossetti, Elden Ring’s the initial development has largely been completed. Fossetti, who is a journalist for an Italian gaming publication, says FromSoftware is currently in the process of polishing production with Elden Ring and that based on the company’s original schedule, the game should have already been released. However, due to what happened throughout 2020 in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic, the internal release dates ended up changing.
The rumor goes on to state that the nature of Elden Ring is quite similar to that of Dark Souls Series. While all FromSoftware titles share some of the same DNA, this rumor suggests that Elden Ring it’s incredibly similar to Dark Souls. While Sekiro: the shadows die twice may have been a difference for the iconic studio compared to their previous games, Elden Ring instead, it will appear to return much more closely to the formula that made FromSoftware so loved.
Obviously, considering the nature of this rumor, take everything that is being said with a grain of salt. That said, what is being expressed actually aligns a little with some of the other rumors we’ve heard in recent months. In early December, another rumor stated that Elden Ring it is on track to be released in the first half of 2021. Although this has obviously not been confirmed, it seems to be in line with what Fossetti is suggesting.
Assuming these rumors turn out to be true, it means that we should start listening and seeing a lot more Elden Ring in the coming weeks and months. For now, all we know for sure is that the game is scheduled to be released on an undetermined date for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
