Eagles announces Nick Sirianni’s first coaching staff

• Gannon arrives in Philadelphia after spending the last three seasons as a coach for the Indianapolis Colts defenders / cornerbacks. Working with Sirianni in Indianapolis, the Colts ranked sixth in interceptions, ninth in defense goals and tenth in total defense and red zone.

• Last season, the Colts produced 25 takeaways, good for fifth place in the NFL, and 15 interceptions.

• Before his stint at the Colts, Gannon was a defensive back / quality control coach for the 2014-17 Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings were second in the league in defense of the red zone and third in defense of scoring, total defense, pass defense and defense of third descent in these four years. Cornerback Xavier Rhodes and safety Harrison Smith combined to win five Pro Bowl prizes during that time.

• In addition to his experience as a coach, Gannon worked in the St. Louis Rams personnel department for three years.

• Gannon began his university career at his alma mater, Louisville, where he played on the defensive before suffering a hip injury that ended his career.
