Dunkin ‘is working on a way to get more coffee drinkers back in stores during the pandemic: the java giant is giving away free coffee every Monday in February to customers who make a purchase.

DUNKIN ‘TO PERMANENTLY CLOSE 800 US STORE LOCATIONS IN 2020, 8% OF US RESTAURANTS

Members of Dunkin ‘Perks – the chain’s rewards program, which offers guests five points for every dollar spent, redeemable for a free drink at 200 points – can earn their free medium hot coffees with any purchase during their’ Mondays’ Free Coffee Fairs’ throughout the month, the cafeteria announced in a recent blog post.

The promotion comes after a difficult year for retailers, as traditional business models become more difficult to profit in the era of the coronavirus pandemic, with more people depending on delivery and drive-thru. Dunkin ‘had previously announced that it hoped to permanently close 800 locations in the United States in late 2020. The closures, many of which were at gas stations, accounted for 8% of the donut chain’s domestic footprint, according to a document regulatory.

Several other chains have increased coffee subscriptions and promotions as well. Panera launched a coffee subscription in 2020 for $ 8.99 a month, giving users unlimited access to coffee through its app, with the first three months free for those who sign up. And Burger King launched a limited $ 5 coffee subscription in March 2019, although it ended the program after a few months.
