Golden State Warriors striker Draymond Green sharply criticized the NBA after Monday night’s victory over Cleveland, saying that players negotiated by teams are being treated unfairly.
Green spoke after the news that the Cavaliers have held the post of All-Star Andre Drummond twice, because they are looking to negotiate it. Drummond watched the game on Monday and cheered for the teammates at the bank while wearing normal clothes.

“I would like to talk about something that is really bothering me. It is the treatment given to players in this league,” said Green, cursing to emphasize his point: “Watching Andre Drummond … appear in normal clothes because a team is going to change it, it is (expletive).
“Because when James Harden asked for an exchange and essentially chased it – I don’t think anyone is going to fight because James was chasing it in his last days in Houston – but he was castrated for wanting to go to a different team, and everyone destroyed that man .
“However, a team can come in and say, ‘Oh, we want to change a guy’, and then that guy is going to sit down and if he doesn’t stay professional, then he’s cancer and not good in someone’s locker room and he’s the problem. ”
Green highlighted how Anthony Davis, then a New Orleans Pelicans star, was fined $ 50,000 for publicly demanding a negotiation in 2019.
“As a player, you are the worst person in the world when you want a different situation,” said Green. “But a team can say it is changing you, and that man must stay in shape, he must remain professional, and if not his career is at stake. At some point, this league has to protect players from embarrassment. “

Before Monday’s game, Cavaliers coach JB Bickerstaff praised Drummond for his handling of the bank. Bickerstaff also said that the decision to sit Drummond came only after consulting Drummond and his agent about the situation.
In Detroit, the Pistons plan to keep star Blake Griffin out of the team while he and the organization decide on his future.
“After an extensive conversation with Blake’s representatives, it was determined that we will start working to facilitate a resolution on his future with the team that maximizes the interests of both parties,” Pistons general manager Troy Weaver said in a statement on Monday. “We respect all the effort that Blake made in Detroit and in his career and we will work to achieve a positive outcome for everyone involved.”
