Dr. Dre hospitalized, allegedly suffered from a brain aneurysm

Dr. Dre says he will be “back home soon” after the music mogul received medical treatment at a Los Angeles hospital due to a report of cerebral aneurysm.

The rapper and producer said in an Instagram post Tuesday night that he is grateful for the “best wishes”. TMZ, which was the first to report Dre’s hospitalization, said he suffered a brain aneurysm on Monday and was recovering at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. The Los Angeles Times quoted sources as saying he was in a stable condition.

“I am doing very well and receiving excellent care from my medical team,” he said. “I’ll be out of the hospital and coming home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. Love it!”

His representative did not immediately respond to an email from The Associated Press.

TMZ said the 55-year-old man was stable and lucid, but doctors did not know what caused the bleeding and were conducting tests.

TMZ pointed out that he is “in the middle of a very contentious divorce with his wife, Nicole.”

Several musicians and athletes paid tribute to Dre on social media on Tuesday. Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg and LeBron James offered prayers for their recovery.

Dre, whose real name is Andre Young, produced hits for Tupac, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and more. He won six Grammys.
