WARREN, Mich. – Bella, eight weeks old, an American bulldog, was a Christmas present for Ashley Swinton and her children.
“We received it two days before Christmas and, just a few days ago, I received food,” she said.
Swinton ordered food for Door Dash. Bella was on the closed porch of Warren’s house when the driver was caught on camera leaving food and leaving with Bella.
“They (the family) originally thought that the dog had just left the room,” said Detective Brian Price of Warren Police Department.
When Bella was nowhere, the family checked the surveillance cameras to see what happened.
“You can’t trust anyone. You just can’t, ”said Swinton.
Swinton called Door Dash and got nowhere. That’s when she went to Warren’s Police Department, who tracked down the driver and Bella. The puppy is back at home.
“In the end, it was the children’s Christmas gift. I’m glad the dog could be returned to them, ”said Price.
The police arrested the driver who was carrying the dog.
