DJI’s next FPV Drone leaked in full unboxing video

DJI’s next first-person (FPV) racing drone has been rumored since the end of last year, but a recent 10-minute unboxing video of the next drone shows it from all angles.

While it is clearly a display demo unit (as noted by the rather prominent text “NOT FOR SALE” and “DISPLAY DEMO” visible on the box and on the controller), which means that some things are subject to change before its official release, it is highly likely that at least what is included in the box, as well as the overall design of the drone, are probably etched in stone. In addition, the look seems to match the model released by OsitaLV last year:

OsitaLV also shared a link to the full unboxing, which was uploaded to SpiderMonkey FPV on YouTube. In the video, the unusual shape of the drone is visible along with the new controller design, which looks a lot like a video game console controller. The antennas are also much larger and are at the top of the controller and occupy the place where there would normally be a built-in screen or place to mount a smartphone. However, since the pilot would use the drone while wearing goggles, it is not necessary to mount a screen on this drone.

Speaking of glasses, the video gives a clear view of the new FPV glasses that have four large antennas protruding from them, giving them a very “cyberpunk” futuristic facade. The presenter of the unboxing video says they look lighter than the ones that DJI originally presented in 2019.

Back on the drone itself, it has a different wing for body orientation than other DJI drones. Instead of the propellers positioned on the same horizontal axis as the front camera array, they tilt forward in a way that appears to have been designed to pull the drone forward. As it is an FPV racing drone, this design probably makes the product significantly faster than DJI’s most focused photo and video flight cameras.

In addition to the unboxing video above, a short 20-second clip that claims to be from the DJI racing drone was also uploaded:

More details on what exactly can be expected from this drone will be announced as soon as DJI officially launches it, but for now, this is the best look we’ve seen in the drone giant’s new unannounced product line.
