Dita Von Teese is talking about the abuse charges against her ex-husband, Marilyn Manson.
In a statement released on her Instagram on Wednesday, February 3, the burlesque dancer and lingerie designer said she was “processing the news” about Marilyn, with whom she was briefly married between 2005 and 2006.
“For those who expressed concerns about my well-being, I thank you for your kindness,” said Dita, before adding: “Please know that the details made public do not correspond to my personal experience during our 7 years together as a couple.”
“If they had,” she continued, “I would not have married him in December 2005. I left 12 months later due to infidelity and drug use.”
Dita concluded: “Abuse of any kind has no place in any relationship. I urge those of you who have been abused to take steps to heal themselves and to have the strength to fully realize themselves.”
Days ago, Westworld Star Evan Rachel Wood claimed that Marilyn “terribly abused” her during their relationship, which ended in 2007. Marilyn, whose real name is Brian Warner, denied his accusations.

“Obviously, my art and my life have always been magnets for controversy, but these recent statements about me are horrible distortions of reality,” said the rocker in a statement shared on Instagram on February 1. “My intimate relationships have always been totally consensual with partners of similar minds.”
“Regardless of how – and why – others are choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth,” he added.
Marilyn has not yet addressed Dita’s comments about their marriage, but this is not the first time she has blamed the separation for the artist’s controversial methods.
In a 2007 interview with The Daily Telegraph, the pinup model accused Marilyn of having an “improper relationship” with another woman during her marriage.
“I have a feeling he thinks I didn’t support him,” she noted at the time. “But the truth is that I did not support his lifestyle and someone else did support him.”
