Allen Park, Mich. – Detroit Lions announced today that Aaron Glenn has been named the team’s new defensive coordinator. Additional terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Glenn arrives in Detroit after spending the last five seasons (2016-20) as a secondary coach for the New Orleans Saints. He brings to Lions more than 24 years of experience in the National Football League, including experience as a player, front office and coach.
Prior to his time in New Orleans, Glenn worked as an assistant defense coach for the Cleveland Browns (2014-15), after working as a personal scout for the New York Jets for two seasons (2012-13). In his 15-year playing career, Glenn played 205 games (176 matches) and was nominated for three Pro Bowls. He was originally called up by the Jets in the first round (12th overall) of the 1994 NFL Draft outside Texas A&M.
