Senator Ted Cruz, R-Texas, destroyed the Biden government after a visit to the border with 17 other US senators on Friday, telling Fox Business presenter Elizabeth MacDonald in “The Evening Edit” that the conditions in what he called of “Biden’s cages” young migrants in Texas are “inhuman” and “unscrupulous”.
CRUZ: Today we visit detention centers, in particular the [town of] Donna’s detention center, which is a gigantic tent city that was built in response to this overwhelming crisis that is unfolding on the border. And the capacity at Donna’s facilities with COVID restrictions is 250 people. It now has about 4,000 people in it. Therefore, it is more than 1500% of its capacity.
And we saw Biden’s cages. We saw cage after cage after cage that the Biden government filled with children. They are packed there. They are not separated by 6 feet or 3 feet. They are side by side. And the COVID positivity rate at Donna’s facility is around 10%.
What they are doing is inhumane, it is unfair and it was preventable. It is the direct result of political decisions made by the Biden government.
