In a tweet last week, Sanders said “extremist Republicans” have done enough to undermine democracy by calling on all Americans to come together in opposition to the recall, while Warren and Booker sent messages on Monday.
The White House also said that President Biden is opposed to any effort to remove Newsom.
As previously reported by Fox News, Newsom has vowed to fight the recall effort, which his campaign claimed to be supported by “anti-mask and anti-anti-extremist extremists” as well as “QAnon conspiracy theorists, anti-immigrant activists and Trump supporters. “
In a tweet on Monday, the California governor said he refused to be “distracted” by the “party and republican revocation”.
