Deion’s son, DB Shilo Sanders, will leave South Carolina

COLOMBIA, SC (AP) – Shilo Sanders, son of the Professional Football Hall of Fame Deion Sanders, is leaving South Carolina.

Young Sanders, a defender from Cedar Hill, Texas, who has played nine games this season, arrived on the NCAA transfer portal, team spokesman Steve Fink said in a text on Monday.

Sanders was tied for seventh at Gamecocks with 32 tackles.

He became the last defender to leave South Carolina since coach Will Muschamp resigned last month. Cornerbacks Jaycee Horn and Israel Mukuamu opted out of the season after Muschamp was sent off.

Leading linebacker striker Ernest Jones decided to give up his last season in college to prepare for the NFL draft after the Gamecocks ended their 2-8 season.

South Carolina hired Oklahoma assistant Shane Beamer earlier this month to replace Muschamp.

Deion Sanders was hired as Jackson’s top football coach in September.
