David Boreanaz guarantees support for Charisma Carpenter amid complaints of abuse by Joss Whedon – Deadline

David Boreanaz is the last to speak out in support of his former Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-star Charisma Carpenter, following her allegations of abuse and “misconduct” by Joss Whedon in the supernatural series.

“I’m here to hear and support you,” Boreanaz tweeted on Sunday. “Proud of your strength.”

Carpenter replied, “I know you’re there for me, David. I appreciate everything you did to demonstrate this support in particular. Especially since Wednesday … thank you very much. “

Boreanaz opined after Carpenter said last week that he supported actor Ray Fisher, who accused Whedon of being “rude, abusive, unprofessional and completely unacceptable” to him and others on the set of Warner Bros. ‘Justice League movie.

Boreanaz starred in Angel’s lead role in Buffy 1997-2003 and the spin-off Angel 1999-2004.

In his post last week, Carpenter shared his own story of Whedon’s alleged misconduct, which she said she called fat when she was pregnant, and asked if she planned to keep her son during a private meeting.

Whedon “started attacking my character, mocking my religious beliefs, accusing me of sabotaging the program and then unceremoniously fired me the following season, as soon as I gave birth,” wrote Carpenter.

Carpenter said Whedon “has a history of being casually cruel” and abused his power to manipulate people on the set of the TV show.

Whedon’s representatives did not comment on Carpenter’s accusations or Buffy alumna Michelle Trachtenberg.
