Coco was six when David and Courteney split in 2010.

During a long conversation with The Guardian, the 49-year-old “Scream” actor was asked, “Who would you most like to apologize to and why?”

“My daughter, Coco, because divorce is so difficult,” he replied.
Coco was just six when David and Courteney split in 2010. Having met on the set of “Scream” in 1996, the couple married in 1999. They finalized their divorce in 2013.
Although David revealed that Courteney’s split was “so difficult”, the pair worked hard to be there for Coco.
“We are co-parents of our 16-year-old daughter, so we have a really great relationship,” he told People last August. “We are friends and we communicate a lot because of Coco.”

“There are difficult parts, especially during adolescence,” he continued. “There are many emotions and feelings. We just had – it was not an easy time with that, we were just very open and supportive of each other. Therefore, it is made for a friendship and a relationship that is out of respect. “
Courteney seemed to co-sign the sentiment when he spoke to ET about filming “Panic 4” with his ex.
“What happens is that David and I love each other very much and get along very well,” she explained at the time. “I love him very much. We are the best friends.”
And when “Panic 5” was announced, David said he was looking forward to meeting with Courteney.
“We always love working together,” he told ET at the time. “She’s an incredible actress, so it will be fun to bring these characters back to life and see where they are. Co-starring is the easy part.”
