Daniel Radcliffe says he is ‘intensely embarrassed’ for his performance in the Harry Potter franchise

‘It’s like asking,’ how do you feel about your teenage years? Daniel Radcliffe says he is ‘intensely embarrassed’ for his performance in the Harry Potter franchise

Daniel Radcliffe said he feels ‘intensely ashamed’ for his performance in the Harry Potter franchise, while looking at the magical mega hit.

The actor, 31, was just 11 when he appeared in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, and starred in seven subsequent films in the next ten years.

Speaking to former child star Elijah Wood at the last issue of Empire Magazine on Friday, Daniel took the opportunity to reflect on his acting skills at the time.

He said to the Lord of the Rings star: ‘It is difficult to separate my relationship with Harry from my relationship with the films as a whole.

‘I am extremely grateful for the experience. He showed me what I want to do with the rest of my life. To find out what you love right away is really lucky.

‘I am intensely embarrassed by some of my performances, obviously [laughs], but rather, it’s like asking, “How do you feel about your teen years?”

Daniel added this because he was part of Harry Potter for so long that he believes it is ‘impossible’ to express just a single feeling to describe what it was like.

The actor found international fame as Harry Potter in the eponymous franchise alongside Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley and Emma Watson as Hermione.

The film is based on JK Rowling’s bestselling books and debuted with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in 2001 and ended in 2011 with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2.

In January, it was reported that a TV series based on the books is in the early stages of development for HBO Max.

Sources told The Hollywood Reporter that Warner Bros. held a series of meetings to bring the blockbuster franchise – based on JK Rowling’s seven beloved books – to television.

However, representatives from HBO Max and Warner Bros. deny that such conversations are taking place, telling DailyMail.com in a statement: ‘There is no Harry Potter series under development in the studio or on the streaming platform.’

Despite the denial, another Hollywood trade – Variety – also reported on Monday that there were discussions about a potential TV series.

According to THR, it is still very early, with only general ideas being discussed. So far, no talent or writer has been attached to the potential series.

Still, the commercial publication claims that the producers had ‘several conversations’ with writers to explore ideas about the expansion of Harry Potter’s magical world, which spawned eight films that grossed more than $ 7 billion worldwide.

Rowling controls the Potter franchise and has a say in everything that involves the property and its distribution.
