Dan Hardy reportedly fired by UFC and BT Sport after the Fight Island incident

Dan Hardy worked for years as a UFC color commentator and fight analyst for the UFC’s UK broadcast partner, BT Sport. The former UFC title challenger was absent from recent UFC events, and it is because he is no longer working for both companies.

According to a report by Dave Meltzer, Hardy was “fired” by both UFC and BT Sport “because of a problem in Abu Dhabi where he fought with an employee”.

Hardy has already discussed the issue on social media. He did not disclose much, but said it was due to a “disagreement over a missed or missed opportunity”.

The former UFC fighter also had a previous incident on Ilha da Luta, where he fought and shouted at Herb Dean over a failed call last July. He also criticized the veteran referee again because of his hesitation during a stoppage at UFC 259 this past week.

Since being discharged from the promotion, the talented commentator and analyst has been more active on his own YouTube channel, Full Reptile. He has also been actively trying to resume his MMA career, with his efforts, including a recent call against Nick Diaz.

This interview also had a detail that makes a little more sense now that his situation has been made public. He mentioned how he was struggling to discuss a fight reserve with the promotion.

“I’m trying to get in touch with the UFC and it’s been very difficult at the moment,” said Hardy. “So social media is the best way to do this.”

Hardy is 38 years old and has not competed since 2012, as he was diagnosed with a heart disease, Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome.
