Cyndi Lauper defends friend Sharon Osbourne: ‘We all make mistakes’

Cyndi Lauper is coming to the defense of her friend Sharon Osbourne.

The hostile co-host of “The Talk” faced a reaction due to the comments she made two weeks ago, while supporting her British friend and colleague, Piers Morgan, after her controversial comments about Meghan Markle.

“I wanted to go public to support my friend [Sharon Osbourne], Lauper, 67, started with a long caption on Instagram accompanied by a photo of her with Osbourne, 68.

Lauper continued: “I have known her for a long time and I do not believe she is racist. I understand that she may have spoken badly, used wrong words and acted in ways that hurt other people. She may even have failed in her request for sorry. But I believe she is sincere in trying to fix things. “

The singer went on to say that while “we all make mistakes”, she “could not stand still and say nothing”, in defense of the former reality show star.

“We all want a second chance, but nobody wants to give a second chance,” said Lauper. “We all want to be forgiven, but no one wants to forgive. I believe that Sharon is sincere in his desire to apologize and change. I hope everyone is at least willing to listen to her.”

The public decree in favor of Osbourne was not widely received by those on social media who follow the “Time After Time” singer.

“Don’t get involved,” replied a commenter on the Instagram post, while another user simply wrote, “Come on, Cyndi. Stopped following.”

Others pleaded with Lauper, “Cyndi, please don’t defend this”, while another fan of the singer replied, “I love you Cyndi, but I will have to disagree.”

In light of Osbourne’s recent observations, rock legend Ozzy Osbourne’s wife had to hire outside security to investigate her Los Angeles home in case anyone tried to enter the property.

According to a TMZ report, the CBS co-host was plagued by violent threats on social media and random people calling her cell phone – and because of the harassment she felt she needed to take extra precautions to protect her family and herself.

Osbourne has also disabled the comment section of his social media accounts.

Last week, Osbourne also denied allegations that he used racially insensitive language with his former “The Talk” host, Holly Robinson Peete, who co-hosted the show’s first season and left in 2011.

On March 12, Peete said that Osbourne played an important role in her dismissal after she said Peete was “very ghetto”.

“In response to Holly Robinson Peete’s accusation of getting her fired from The Talk, I am sharing an email sent to me by Holly a month after she was released from CBS,” Osbourne explained on March 13th. “As I stated before, I never had the ability / authority to get someone fired from The Talk.”

Meanwhile, Osbourne told Entertainment Tonight earlier this week that she is not sure if she will return to the popular daytime show, as Osbourne does not know “if I am wanted there”.
