AN PlayStation 5 The custom front panel seller is back after being threatened with legal action by Sony.
As reported by VGC, the company – now known as CMP Shells – relaunched on Monday, January 18th. The company is still selling black shells for the PlayStation 5, which cost $ 49.99 and apparently will arrive with customers in late February.
On its product page for PS5 projectiles, CMP addresses the fact that it had been threatened with legal action before.
“The patent is pending and all sales completed before being approved are untouchable,” wrote the company.
“We didn’t know before. Now yes. In addition, we do not reproduce anyone’s proprietary design. Our shells enhance the original, allowing more ventilation. We will be able to sell even after the patent is approved. “
This is the third brand change the company has made since October last year; it was initially known as PlateStation5.com, before Sony complained that the name was very similar to the PlayStation trademark. The company then became CustomizeMyPlates.com, but Sony still insisted that the peripherals it was producing violated its PlayStation IP. The company was threatened with legal action – with Sony saying it would take the company to court if it didn’t stop selling the products – and had to cancel all orders placed by consumers.
Now, let’s see how long it takes for CMP Shells to be threatened with another lawsuit by Sony.
