Cuomo faces possible investigation, calls for deposition after bombshell report on deaths in state nursing homes

Cuomo Faces Potential Investigation, Calls for Deposition After Bombshell Report on Deaths in State Nursing Homes
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s political career was potentially in jeopardy on Thursday after a top aide told state Democrats that the Cuomo government had concealed data on coronavirus deaths in state asylums.

The goal, said Cuomo’s secretary, Melissa DeRosa, was to protect the Democratic government from the federal scrutiny of the Trump administration, the New York Post reported.

Republicans were outraged. US Deputy Lee Zeldin, RN.Y., called for an investigation by the Department of Justice.

“The families of thousands of elderly people killed in New York deserve responsibility and justice for the real consequences of Governor Cuomo’s fatally flawed retirement home policy and ongoing attempts to cover it up. It is clear that what is happening here is criminal,” said Zeldin.

The Post’s report coincided with a second correction by state officials in a few weeks on underreported deaths in nursing homes.

US Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, RN.Y., demanded that Cuomo and his “senior team” be “sued immediately” in connection with DeRosa’s revelations. CLICK HERE FOR MORE ABOUT OUR MAIN HISTORY.

Josh Hawley rips Trump’s impeachment sessions like ‘kangaroo trial’
US Senator Josh Hawley, R-Mo., Attacked Congressional Democrats on Thursday, accusing them of holding a “kangaroo trial” in the Senate this week in an attempt to convict former President Donald Trump under the charge of “inciting an insurrection.”

“It is totally unconstitutional and incredibly selfish on the part of Democrats seeking their own personal political revenge here,” Hawley said in an interview with Fox News Harris Faulkner.

“The Constitution does not allow them to do what they are trying to do,” added the senator.

Thursday marked the third and final day that Democrats made their case against Trump, whom the party accused of encouraging its supporters to attack the United States Capitol on January 6, the same day that Congress was voting for. certify the vote of the Electoral College in the presidential election. The certification vote was postponed when protesters stormed the Capitol, but lawmakers met again that night and certified the vote, which favored Democrat Joe Biden over Trump, who was seeking election for a second term.

Republicans argued that Trump was exercising his First Amendment right to free speech when he addressed a crowd in Washington on January 6. Democrats responded that Trump is responsible for the attack on the Capitol, which led to several deaths.

Trump’s defense team was scheduled for Friday to refute the arguments against Trump that Democrats made at the trial over the past three days. CLICK HERE FOR MORE.

Anti-Trump project Lincoln faces strong reaction, accused of publishing private messages from former members
The Lincoln Project, a political group composed of anti-Trump Republicans, was facing intense reaction and potentially serious legal problems after being accused of publishing screenshots of private messages belonging to Jennifer Horn, one of the group’s co-founders.

Horn, who left the Lincoln Project last week, has had a public feud with the group since his departure. But the Lincoln Project raised tensions on Thursday night with tweets that seemed to show Hornos exchanging with 19th News correspondent Amanda Becker.

“Earlier this evening, we heard that @AmandaBecker from @ 19thnews was preparing to publish a defamation paper on the Lincoln Project with the help of @NHJennifer,” the Lincoln Project began a long discussion. “You hear a lot about successful journalism jobs, but you rarely get to see the story of its origin. Enjoy it.”

Former group member George Conway condemned the posting of tweets as a potential “violation of federal law”. CLICK HERE FOR MORE.

SOME STARTING WORDS

Erin Hawley, wife of US Senator Josh Hawley, R-Mo., Detailed a scary protest that took place outside the couple’s home in Virginia in January – when she was at home with her young daughter while the senator was traveling with his two children.

“If my two boys were at home, they would have been terrified and I thank God they weren’t,” said Erin Hawley on Thursday night in “Hannity”, “but it is not a minor incident to scare families or terrify children.

“Protesters know this. There are many public spaces where they can get their message across. The First Amendment protects this, but it does not protect arriving at a family home at night.”
