Cruz calls Harris about border crisis, certainly ‘the administrator will allow the media to film the empty cages’

Senator Ted Cruz on Wednesday asked Vice President Kamala Harris and the Biden administration to grant media access to US Customs and Border Protection facilities on the Texas border.

Harris was hired by President Biden to lead efforts to resolve the problem at the border. Cruz reminded his followers that Harris said in a 2019 tweet that, as president, she would free children from cages and get rid of private detention centers.

“Kamala, tomorrow 17 senators will join me at the TX border. Administrator Biden refuses to allow the press to see the CBP’s facilities,” wrote Cruz. “Since you promised to ‘free the children from the cages’, your administrator will certainly allow the media to film the empty cages.”

“If not, what are you hiding?” He continued.

The Biden government is being investigated for the sudden increase in migrants arriving at the border. The capacity of temporary detention facilities increased after the government said it would no longer expel unaccompanied young children last month.

On Tuesday, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released photos of temporary facilities in Texas that are being used to prosecute migrant children after the White House and CBP were pressured into why the media did not have access to these facilities.

The photos showed crowded rooms, including children sleeping shoulder to shoulder on mattresses on the floor with aluminum blankets and benches. Another photo shows dozens of children in a transparent pen similar to a cage.

BIDEN SAYS MIGRANT SURGE IN THE SOUTHERN BORDER BEGINNING UNDER TRUMP

The Biden government cited coronavirus protocols as the reason the press was not allowed.

“That is their stated justification. It doesn’t matter if they are packing thousands and thousands of illegal immigrants into crowded facilities. They are reporters and videographers who represent the COVID threat. And Harris, this is obviously absurd. border travel, “Cruz said during an appearance on” The Faulkner Focus “. “I have been to these facilities many times in the Obama administration, in the Trump administration, and they have always let the media in. It is only the Biden government that is involved in this blackout …”

“But the fact that all the news stations were not outraged – if Donald Trump had done that and said, ‘Reporters are not allowed on the border’, the media would have rightly lost their minds. And everyone would be right on,” he added.

On Wednesday, Biden insisted that the increase in migrants on the southern border began under the Trump administration.
