After raising the alarm about President Trump’s use of a ramp at the U.S. Military Academy during the 2020 presidential election, both CNN and MSNBC on Friday practically ignored President Biden’s sharp fall as he climbed the stairs to the Air Force One.
Biden fell three different times when boarding the presidential plane for a trip to Atlanta. The White House later released a statement saying he was fine and suggesting that the “wind” at Andrews Joint Base in Maryland was to blame for the ordeal.
According to Grabien’s transcripts, CNN spent just 15 seconds telling how Biden “struggled to balance” in the “windy” morning and how he “easily left the plane” when he arrived in Atlanta.

That pales in comparison to the whopping 22 minutes and 13 seconds that CNN devoted to the ramp that Trump used while speaking at the West Point graduation ceremony in June 2020, fueling speculation about a decline in health, according to a NewsBusters study.
Although MSNBC spent almost a minute on the Biden incident, the liberal network was much more sympathetic to the Democrat than to Trump.
Meet The Press anchor Chuck Todd asked NBC News correspondent Monica Alba if Biden was “OK”. Alba responded by calling the fall a “human moment that happened to a human who happens to be, of course, the President of the United States”.
“We all ran up the stairs and had that moment ourselves,” said Todd. “And if you didn’t, you are not a human being.”

MSNBC’s 28 minutes and 42 seconds of destroying the use of Trump’s ramp – as reported by NewsBusters – were far less charitable, with several hosts and guests also speculating the Republican’s aptitude to serve.
Twitter critics also pointed out the stark differences in coverage in The New York Times and The Washington Post.

The Times published “Trump’s stop on the ramp raises new health issues” for its headline in 2020, but on Friday it was with “Biden is ‘100 percent fine’ after stumbling aboard Air Force One.”
Meanwhile, the Post published “Trump tries to explain his slow and unsteady walk down a ramp at West Point” last year, while simply following through with Friday’s headline, “Biden stumbles up stairs in Air Force One”.
