“Clarice”: Four million people tuned in for the premiere of the sequel series ‘Silence of the Lambs’

Clarice Starling is back (on the small screen, this time) in the new CBS series “Clarice”(Read Meagan’s review), which is a year after the young agent took down Buffalo Bill. The series appears to be a fairly standard police procedure with only one Silence of the innocents reskin this time with Rebecca Breeds doing a great job channeling a young Jodie Foster.

We learned today that 4 million people tuned in to watch “Clarice” live on CBS last night, winning the 10pm time. Undoubtedly, many were encouraged to tune in after CBS promoted hell out of the series’ premiere during the Super Bowl last Sunday night, displaying several ads that strongly emphasized the fact that “Clarice” is a sequel to the film’s winner Oscar.

“Clarice” debuted with a rating of 0.05 in the main demographic range of 18 to 49 years old.

For comparison, NBC’s “Hannibal” debuted to 4.36 million viewers in 2013, eventually dropping to 1.24 million viewers at the end of the third / last season.
