Chrissy Teigen said she once took Michael Keaton’s glass of champagne from her hands at an unspecified Golden Globe party, explaining that she thought he was a waiter.

The author of the 35-year-old cookbook told the story during a round of “Best Worst First”, a game that provides warnings using a random topic generator, on Tuesday’s episode of “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon”.

“Best celebrity date,” announced the dawn host as the first topic.

Teigen responded by pointing to an interaction that took place after the Golden Globes a year, pausing to say that the story may actually be his “worst” encounter with a celebrity.

“I was drinking a lot and I saw someone in the doorway holding a glass of champagne. So I just went up, took it and said, ‘Thank you,'” she said.

“John says, ‘That was Michael Keaton,'” added Teigen, referring to her husband, John Legend.

Fallon interrupted, “Wasn’t it someone serving champagne?”

“No, it wasn’t. And I’m still so ashamed of it. I could die,” she said. “I just took it, drank it and left.”

Although Teigen did not specify in which year the incident occurred, it was probably at the 2015 Golden Globe.

Keaton won the award for best actor in a musical or movie comedy for his role in “Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)” that year.

Legend and Teigen also attended the awards, as the singer won the best original song with the track “Glory” in “Selma”.

In December, Teigen said on social media that she was sober four weeks after her 35th birthday.

She said Holly Whitaker’s book “Stop like a woman: the radical choice not to drink in an alcohol-obsessed culture” helped guide her decision to stop drinking.

“A month ago, on my birthday, I got this book from my doctor and friend. I was sick of doing an a– of myself in front of people (I’m still embarrassed), tired of drinking during the day and feeling – – around 6, unable to sleep “, she wrote in her Instagram story.

Just over a month later, Teigen said that being sober opened a “different world” for her.

Along with a photo of her family in Washington, DC, for the presidential inauguration, she tweeted, “It’s amazing to be here. Sober. I know it’s strange, but it’s like … a different world for me.”

She added: “Everything is new and better. Very happy. The happiest, very happy.”
