Chrissy Teigen says pregnancy loss saved her

“I really, somehow, think I’m a better person now.”

Last September, Chrissy Teigen lost her baby after weeks of pregnancy complications that led to her hospitalization.

Since then, she has been very open about her journey towards healing. From quitting drinking to admitting her biggest regrets about losing her pregnancy, she shared all the ups and downs – and touched many people with similar experiences along the way.

Today, the 35-year-old man opened yet another episode of The Ellen Show.

“I go through my closet and there are maternity clothes, things I bought for my eighth month and my ninth month,” she said. “So it’s difficult because he would have been born this week, so you look at those things and you have these constant reminders.”

But “being Thai and being raised in a house that was very open about loss” helped her to realize that “it can be a beautiful thing”.

“It was a really transformative thing for me and, in a way, it really saved me. I don’t think I would have discovered therapy, and then sobriety, and this way of feeling good about myself and feeling like a new person,” she explained .

“You think of all the people who go through it in silence and you feel very sad for them. Ours was so public, so many people supported me. You really gained that incredible amount of empathy. And I really, somehow, think I’m a better person now. And I just have the best support system ever. “

The cookbook author also loves the way her two young children, who she shares with husband John Legend, talk about Jack.

“Are we going to the beach or something, and they’re going to say, ‘Is Baby Jack with us now? Do you think he’s in the clouds? ‘ It is so beautiful and so sweet “, she concluded.
